Host (Landowner) Terms & Conditions.

The terms you agree to as a Host when you list a property and grant Members access for recreational hunting.

Last updated 8 August 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Huntable platform (huntable.app and the Huntable mobile app) as a Host — a landowner or authorised occupier listing property for recreational hunting access. By registering as a Host, listing a property, or accepting a booking, you agree to these Terms.

Huntable is operated by Huntable Limited ("Huntable", "we", "us"), a company registered in New Zealand. You can contact us at legal@huntable.app.

1

What Huntable is (and isn't)

  • 1.1Huntable is an online marketplace that connects landowners and authorised occupiers ("Hosts") with Members — people who register with Huntable to book access to private land for recreational hunting.
  • 1.2Huntable is not a party to the access arrangement between you and a Member. When a booking is confirmed, you — not Huntable — grant the Member a limited, revocable permission to enter and hunt on your property, subject to these Terms, the Booking Terms, and any Farm Rules you set for the property.
  • 1.3Huntable does not own, occupy, control, inspect, or manage any listed property, and does not supervise or guide any hunt. You remain the occupier of your property at all times and retain all rights and responsibilities of an occupier.
  • 1.4We may refer to Hosts as "farmers", "landowners", or (in Australia) "landholders" in our marketing, community, and general communications. These terms all describe the same role — the party listing property and granting Members access under these Terms.
  • 1.5We may also refer to Members as "hunters" or "hunter members" in our marketing, community, and platform interface. These terms describe the same role — a person who has registered with Huntable to book access to Host properties. Related terms such as "booking member" refer to the specific Member who has made a booking on behalf of a party.

Eligibility and account registration

  • 2.1
    To register as a Host you must:
    • (a)be at least 18 years of age;
    • (b)be the owner of the property you list, or otherwise legally authorised to grant hunting access to it (for example, as a leaseholder, manager, or authorised representative);
    • (c)provide accurate, current and complete information about yourself and each property; and
    • (d)not have been previously suspended or removed from the platform.
  • 2.2If you are registering on behalf of a company, trust, partnership, or other entity, you warrant that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
  • 2.3You must maintain the security of your login credentials and are responsible for all activity under your account.
3

Listing your property

  • 3.1
    Each listing must:
    • (a)accurately describe the property, hunting areas, terrain, species present, and hunting methods permitted;
    • (b)fairly represent access, accommodation (if any), and any facilities offered;
    • (c)not misrepresent game populations or the likelihood of hunting success; and
    • (d)disclose known hazards on the property that may affect Member safety.
  • 3.2You are responsible for keeping your listing up to date. If material information changes (for example, closed access, new hazards, or seasonal restrictions), you must update the listing or pause it before accepting further bookings.
  • 3.3
    By publishing a listing you warrant that:
    • (a)you have all necessary rights and authorisations to permit hunting on the property; and
    • (b)permitting the hunting activities described in the listing does not breach any lease, mortgage, covenant, resource consent, plan rule, or other legal obligation binding you or the property.
4

Property rules and access conditions

  • 4.1Every booking is subject to Huntable's Booking Terms, which set a baseline of safety and conduct expectations for Members.
  • 4.2You may set your own Farm Rules for the property — additional rules or restrictions on top of the Booking Terms (for example, no shooting near buildings, no vehicles beyond a certain point, permitted species and methods, party-size limits, or seasonal closures). Your Farm Rules must be visible in your listing before a Member books.
  • 4.3Farm Rules you set that impose stricter safety requirements than the Booking Terms apply in addition to the Booking Terms. Your Farm Rules cannot reduce a Member's obligations under law or the Booking Terms.
  • 4.4You may set minimum ages for members joining a booking party and for accompanying children on your property. Where you do not specify a minimum age, Huntable's default rules apply.
5

Bookings and Host acceptance

  • 5.1You may choose to enable instant booking or manual approval for your listing. If manual approval is enabled, you must respond to booking requests within a reasonable time (we suggest within 24 hours) or Huntable may cancel the request on your behalf.
  • 5.2When you accept (or when a Member completes an instant booking on) a listing, a binding access arrangement is formed between you and that Member on the terms set out in these Terms, the Booking Terms, your Farm Rules, and the listing.
  • 5.3
    You may refuse or revoke access to any Member (or member of their party) who:
    • (a)fails to comply with the Booking Terms or your Farm Rules;
    • (b)cannot produce a current firearms licence when required;
    • (c)behaves unsafely, disrespectfully, or unlawfully; or
    • (d)is not declared in the booking, or arrives with undeclared persons.
  • 5.4No refund is payable to the Member where you revoke access for the Member's breach of these Terms, the Booking Terms, or your Farm Rules.
6

Payments and fees

  • 6.1Members pay booking fees to Huntable at the time of booking. Huntable collects those funds on your behalf and, after deducting Huntable's service fee, remits the balance to you in accordance with clause 6.4.
  • 6.2Huntable's current service fee percentage and any other charges are displayed to you when you list a property and may change on at least 30 days' notice.
  • 6.3You set the booking price for your listing. Prices must be in New Zealand dollars and inclusive of GST if you are GST-registered.
  • 6.4
    Payments are remitted on a weekly payout cycle. For all bookings completed between Monday and Sunday (inclusive), payment is made to your nominated bank account on the following Thursday, provided:
    • (a)no dispute has been raised by the Member for that booking before payout; and
    • (b)your account and payment details are complete and valid.
  • 6.5You are solely responsible for your own tax obligations, including income tax and GST (if applicable). Huntable does not withhold tax on your behalf.
  • 6.6You warrant that any bank account details you provide are your own or those of the entity you represent, and that any payments received relate to legitimate access arrangements made through the platform.
7

Cancellations, no-shows and disputes

  • 7.1Cancellations of bookings by Members are handled in accordance with our Refund Policy.
  • 7.2
    If you cancel a confirmed booking:
    • (a)you must do so through the platform as early as possible;
    • (b)the Member is entitled to a full refund of amounts paid; and
    • (c)repeated or last-minute cancellations may result in delisting, penalties, or account suspension.
  • 7.3Cancellations arising from force majeure events (extreme weather, natural disaster, biosecurity notices, or other events beyond a party's reasonable control) are not treated as fault-based cancellations and will be handled reasonably by Huntable.
  • 7.4If a Member does not attend a confirmed booking, you should mark the booking as a no-show through the platform. No-shows do not entitle you to any additional payment beyond the standard remittance for that booking.
  • 7.5Disputes between you and a Member should be raised through the platform within 7 days of the booking. Huntable may investigate, request information from both parties, and make a good-faith determination as to the release of funds, refunds, or credits. Huntable's determination is not a legal ruling and does not prevent either party from pursuing other remedies.
8

Your health and safety obligations

  • 8.1You acknowledge that as the occupier of your property you may have duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSWA), the common law relating to occupiers' liability, and other legislation, including duties owed to persons entering your land.
  • 8.2
    You must:
    • (a)identify and disclose in your listing known hazards on the property that may affect Member safety;
    • (b)not knowingly permit access to areas that are unsafe or in a condition that creates unreasonable risk;
    • (c)provide reasonable directions on entry (for example, where to park, where livestock are, closed or off-limits areas, and emergency contact details); and
    • (d)inform Members immediately of any material safety issue you become aware of before or during their booking.
  • 8.3You are solely responsible for compliance with your legal duties as an occupier. Nothing in these Terms transfers those duties to Huntable, and Huntable does not warrant that compliance with these Terms will satisfy your obligations under HSWA or any other law.
9

Insurance

  • 9.1You must hold and maintain current public liability insurance appropriate to permitting third-party hunting access on your property, throughout any period a listing is active or a confirmed booking is outstanding. It is your responsibility to determine the level and scope of cover appropriate to your circumstances, and to discuss requirements with your insurer or broker.
  • 9.2
    Huntable provides tools within the platform intended to help you communicate the layout, hazards, and rules of your property to Members. These include:
    • (a)map-based placement of hazards and no-go zones;
    • (b)designated hunting zones on your property;
    • (c)points of interest and accommodation locations; and
    • (d)the ability to set your own Farm Rules that Members must accept when booking.
  • 9.3These tools are provided as an aid only. They do not replace your own judgement, professional advice, or your obligations under any insurance policy or law, and Huntable does not warrant that use of them will satisfy any insurer's requirements or any legal duty you owe as occupier.
  • 9.4Huntable does not provide insurance to Hosts and does not verify or advise on the adequacy of any insurance you hold.
10

Your conduct

  • 10.1
    You must:
    • (a)treat Members respectfully and honestly, including in communications through the platform;
    • (b)not discriminate against Members in breach of the Human Rights Act 1993;
    • (c)not solicit off-platform payments in order to circumvent Huntable's fees; and
    • (d)not list, or make available for hunting, any species, area, or method that is unlawful.
  • 10.2
    You must not:
    • (a)list a property you are not authorised to list;
    • (b)provide false or misleading information in your listing or account;
    • (c)use the platform for any unlawful purpose; or
    • (d)act in a way that endangers a Member, animal welfare, or the public.
11

Liability

  • 11.1Nothing in these Terms limits any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you list a property in the course of a business (which most Hosts will), you agree the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply to services provided to you by Huntable.
  • 11.2Most personal injury in New Zealand is covered by the Accident Compensation Act 2001 (ACC), which generally bars claims for compensatory damages for personal injury. Nothing in these Terms affects the operation of that Act.
  • 11.3
    To the maximum extent permitted by law, Huntable excludes all liability for:
    • (a)the acts or omissions of any Member or other user;
    • (b)loss of or damage to your property, livestock, crops, buildings, vehicles, or equipment caused by a Member or third party;
    • (c)any dispute between you and a Member; and
    • (d)any indirect or consequential loss.
  • 11.4Where our liability cannot be excluded, it is limited, at our option, to resupplying the relevant service or refunding the amount you paid for it, and in aggregate to the total fees you paid to Huntable in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
  • 11.5You agree to indemnify Huntable against any loss, damage, cost, or claim arising from your breach of these Terms, your unlawful conduct, or the condition of your property, other than to the extent caused by Huntable's own negligent or unlawful act.
12

Content licence

  • 12.1You retain ownership of the listing content (photos, descriptions, videos) you provide.
  • 12.2You grant Huntable a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, host, display, adapt, and promote your listing content in connection with the platform and Huntable's marketing.
  • 12.3You warrant that you own or are licensed to use all listing content, and that its publication on Huntable does not infringe any third party's rights.
13

Suspension and termination

  • 13.1
    We may suspend or delist a property, or terminate your account, immediately and without refund if you:
    • (a)breach these Terms or any law;
    • (b)provide false or misleading information;
    • (c)place any Member, member of the public, or animal at unreasonable risk; or
    • (d)act abusively toward any Member, member, or Huntable staff.
  • 13.2You may delist a property or close your account at any time through your account settings. Existing confirmed bookings must still be honoured, cancelled with refund, or resolved by mutual agreement recorded through the platform.
14

General

  • 14.1We may update these Terms from time to time. We will give reasonable notice of material changes, and your continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
  • 14.2These Terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
  • 14.3If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder continues in effect.
  • 14.4Our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, and the Booking Terms form part of these Terms. If there is any inconsistency, these Terms prevail. Where a Host's Farm Rules impose stricter safety requirements than the Booking Terms, the Farm Rules apply.
