Refund Policy.

How booking payments, cancellations, non-payments, and refunds work on the Huntable platform.

Last updated 8 August 2026

This Refund Policy explains how booking payments, cancellations, non-payments, and refunds work on the Huntable platform. It forms part of the Member Terms & Conditions and the Host (Landowner) Terms & Conditions. Where terms are used but not defined here, they have the meanings given in those T&Cs.

Huntable is operated by Huntable Limited. Questions? legal@huntable.app.

1

How booking payments work

  • 1.1When a booking is confirmed, a 20% deposit of the total booking value is charged to the Member's payment method.
  • 1.2The remaining 80% balance is automatically charged to the Member's payment method 7 days before the hunt date.
  • 1.3All amounts are in New Zealand dollars and include GST where applicable.
  • 1.4For the purposes of this Policy, the "hunt date" is the first scheduled day of the booking. All time references (for example, "5 days before the hunt date") are calendar days, calculated using New Zealand local time.
  • 1.5A processing fee is added at checkout to cover our payment processing costs, including the transaction fee charged by our payment provider, Stripe. The processing fee is shown separately from the booking value.
2

Member cancellations — more than 5 days before the hunt date

  • 2.1
    If a Member cancels a booking more than 5 days before the hunt date:
    • (a)the Member receives a full 100% refund of the booking value paid (whether that is the deposit only, or the deposit and the balance);
    • (b)the processing fee described in clause 1.5 is not refunded;
    • (c)the booking is cancelled with no payment to the Host; and
    • (d)Huntable's service fee is included in the refund.
3

Member cancellations — 5 days or less before the hunt date

  • 3.1
    If a Member cancels a booking 5 days or less before the hunt date, after the balance has been charged:
    • (a)the Member receives a 50% refund of the total booking value;
    • (b)the processing fee described in clause 1.5 is not refunded;
    • (c)Huntable retains its booking fee (currently 17.5% of the total booking value) from the amount that is not refunded; and
    • (d)the Host receives the remainder of the amount that is not refunded, as compensation for the lost booking slot.
  • 3.2
    Example. For a booking value of $1,000 cancelled 5 days or less before the hunt date, the Member would receive $500, Huntable would retain its $175 booking fee, and the Host would receive $325. The processing fee paid at checkout is separate from the booking value and is not refunded.
4

Failure to pay the balance

  • 4.1If the balance payment declines when charged 7 days before the hunt date, the Member has 24 hours to update their payment method and complete payment.
  • 4.2
    If payment is not made within that 24-hour window:
    • (a)the booking is automatically cancelled;
    • (b)Huntable retains the 20% deposit in full; and
    • (c)no payment is made to the Host.
  • 4.3A Member whose booking is cancelled under this clause 4 remains free to make a new booking (subject to availability and the standard payment terms).
5

Host cancellations

  • 5.1If a Host cancels a confirmed booking, the Member receives a full 100% refund of all amounts paid, regardless of how close to the hunt date the cancellation occurs.
  • 5.2No payment is made to the Host for a booking they cancel.
  • 5.3Huntable monitors Host cancellations for patterns that indicate misuse of the platform — for example, repeated last-minute cancellations, cancellations to pursue off-platform bookings, or discriminatory patterns. Repeat Host cancellations may result in warnings, delisting, or account suspension.
6

No-shows and access revoked for breach

  • 6.1If a Member does not attend a confirmed booking without cancelling in advance, no refund is payable.
  • 6.2If a Host revokes access to the property because the Member (or any member of their party) has breached the Booking Terms, the Host's Farm Rules, or the Member T&Cs, no refund is payable.
7

Weather and force majeure

  • 7.1Weather alone is not automatic grounds for a refund from Huntable. Members and Hosts are encouraged to communicate through the platform and, where practical, agree a rescheduled date.
  • 7.2If the Host and Member agree that the hunt should not proceed due to weather, the Host may formally cancel the booking through the platform. Clause 5 then applies, and the Member receives a full refund of all amounts paid.
  • 7.3If a Member cancels a booking 5 days or less before the hunt date due to weather, clause 3 (50% refund) applies by default. The Member may email support@huntable.app to request a review. Huntable will contact both the Host and the Member, assess the circumstances (including the weather conditions, safety considerations, and whether a reschedule was practical), and make a good-faith determination as to whether an additional refund is appropriate.
  • 7.4In the case of a force majeure event beyond the reasonable control of either party — for example, a natural disaster, biosecurity notice, civil emergency, or public health order preventing the booking from going ahead — Huntable will consider requests from either party in good faith and may waive standard cancellation rules where fair to do so.
8

Membership refunds

  • 8.1A member may cancel their membership at any time through their account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and no further membership fees are charged.
  • 8.2Membership fees are non-refundable once the billing period has begun. This does not affect any rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (see clause 11).
  • 8.3If Huntable terminates a membership for breach of the Member T&Cs, no refund of the membership fee is payable.
9

How refunds are paid

  • 9.1Approved refunds are made to the original payment method used for the booking or membership.
  • 9.2Refunds are usually processed by Huntable within 5 business days of approval. The time it takes to appear in the Member's account depends on the payment provider and card issuer.
10

Disputes about refunds

  • 10.1If you disagree with a refund decision, contact us through the platform (or at support@huntable.app) within 7 days of the outcome. Huntable will review, request further information if needed, and make a good-faith final determination.
  • 10.2Where a Member and Host disagree about the facts of a booking — for example, whether access was revoked for breach, whether the Host cancelled, or whether the Member was a no-show — Huntable may hold relevant funds pending investigation and determination.
  • 10.3Huntable's determination is not a legal ruling and does not prevent either party from pursuing other remedies.
11

Your consumer rights

  • 11.1Nothing in this Policy limits any rights you have that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986.
  • 11.2If you believe this Policy or a specific refund decision is inconsistent with those rights, please contact us at legal@huntable.app and we will discuss it in good faith.
12

Changes to this Policy

  • 12.1We may update this Policy from time to time. We will give reasonable notice of material changes.
  • 12.2Bookings confirmed before the effective date of a change are governed by the Policy in effect at the time of confirmation.
