Member Terms & Conditions.

The terms you agree to as a Member when you create an account, buy a membership, or book access to a Host property.

Last updated 8 August 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Huntable platform (huntable.app and the Huntable mobile app) as a registered Member. By creating an account, purchasing a membership, or making a booking, you agree to these Terms.

Huntable is operated by Huntable Limited ("Huntable", "we", "us"), a company registered in New Zealand. You can contact us at legal@huntable.app.

1

What Huntable is (and isn't)

  • 1.1Huntable is an online marketplace that connects Members — people who register with Huntable to book access to private land for recreational hunting — with landowners and occupiers ("Hosts") who make that land available.
  • 1.2Huntable is not a party to the access arrangement between you and a Host. When you make a booking, the Host — not Huntable — grants you a limited, revocable permission to enter and hunt on their property, subject to these Terms, the Booking Terms, and any Farm Rules the Host has set in the listing.
  • 1.3Huntable does not own, occupy, inspect, or control any listed property, and does not supervise, guide, or accompany any hunt. We do not warrant the safety, suitability, game populations, or condition of any property.
  • 1.4We may refer to Hosts as "farmers", "landowners", or (in Australia) "landholders" in our marketing, community, and general communications. These terms all describe the same role — the party listing property and granting you access to it under these Terms.
  • 1.5We may also refer to Members as "hunters" or "hunter members" in our marketing, community, and platform interface. These terms describe the same role — a person who has registered with Huntable to book access to Host properties. Related terms such as "booking member" refer to the specific Member who has made a booking on behalf of a party.

Eligibility and account registration

  • 2.1
    To register as a Member you must:
    • (a)be at least 16 years of age;
    • (b)provide accurate, current and complete information, and keep it updated;
    • (c)hold a current New Zealand firearms licence if you intend to hunt with a firearm (see clause 3); and
    • (d)not have been previously suspended or removed from the platform.
  • 2.2To make a booking you must be at least 18 years of age. Members aged 16 or 17 may join a booked hunt as a participant, but only under the responsibility of a booking member aged 18 or over.
  • 2.3You may hold only one account, which is personal to you. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
  • 2.4Persons under 16 may only attend a hunt as accompanying children of a booking member, under that member's direct supervision, in accordance with the Arms Act 1983 and the Booking Terms. When making a booking, you must declare the number of accompanying children under 16 who will attend. The booking member remains fully responsible for any accompanying members aged 16 or 17 and any accompanying children under 16.
3

Licence verification

  • 3.1Before you can make a booking involving the use of firearms, you must complete Huntable's licence verification process by providing evidence of a current New Zealand firearms licence issued under the Arms Act 1983.
  • 3.2You must ensure your verified licence details remain current. You must notify us immediately at legal@huntable.app if your firearms licence is suspended, revoked, surrendered, or expires, and you must not make or attend any booking involving firearms while unlicensed.
  • 3.3Verification confirms only that you have presented evidence of a licence at the time of verification. It is not an endorsement of your competence, safety, or character, and does not transfer any responsibility for your conduct to Huntable or any Host.
  • 3.4Bow-only or non-firearm bookings may be permitted without firearms licence verification where the listing allows, but all other verification and conduct requirements still apply.
  • 3.5Providing false, altered, or another person's licence details is a material breach of these Terms and will result in immediate termination and may be reported to New Zealand Police.
4

Membership and fees

  • 4.1Access to booking features requires a paid membership. Current membership tiers, pricing, and inclusions are displayed on the platform at the time of purchase. All prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST unless stated otherwise.
  • 4.2Memberships are billed on a recurring basis ([monthly/annual]) and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time through your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • 4.3We may change membership pricing by giving you at least 30 days' notice. Price changes apply from your next renewal.
  • 4.4Refunds of membership fees are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
5

Bookings and payments

  • 5.1When you request a booking, you must pay the booking fee displayed at checkout. Payment is collected by Huntable (or our payment processor) on behalf of the Host. Huntable deducts its service fee and remits the balance to the Host.
  • 5.2A booking is not confirmed until you receive confirmation through the platform. Some listings may require Host approval before confirmation.
  • 5.3When you make a booking, you must accurately declare the composition of your hunting party, including all accompanying members and the number of accompanying children under 16. Bringing any person to the property who was not declared in your booking is a breach of these Terms, and the Host may refuse or revoke access to any undeclared person.
  • 5.4
    Your booking grants you (and any declared members, guests, and accompanying children) permission to access the property only:
    • (a)on the confirmed date(s) and time(s);
    • (b)within the designated hunting areas shown in the listing or provided by the Host;
    • (c)for the species and hunting methods stated in the listing; and
    • (d)subject to the Booking Terms and any Farm Rules.
  • 5.5The Host may revoke access and require you to leave the property immediately if you breach the Booking Terms or the Host's Farm Rules, behave unsafely, or act unlawfully. No refund is payable where access is revoked for your breach.
  • 5.6Cancellations and refunds of booking fees are governed by our Refund Policy.
6

Your conduct and legal obligations

  • 6.1
    You must at all times comply with:
    • (a)the Arms Act 1983 and Arms Regulations, including safe storage and transport of firearms and ammunition;
    • (b)the New Zealand Firearms Safety Code, including the seven basic rules of firearms safety;
    • (c)the Wild Animal Control Act 1977, Wildlife Act 1953, and Animal Welfare Act 1999;
    • (d)the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 to the extent it applies to your activities; and
    • (e)all other applicable laws, regulations, and bylaws.
  • 6.2
    You must:
    • (a)positively identify your target beyond all doubt before shooting;
    • (b)remain within the designated hunting areas and respect all property boundaries;
    • (c)follow all reasonable directions of the Host;
    • (d)not consume alcohol or drugs before or while hunting;
    • (e)leave gates, fences, stock, crops, buildings, vehicles, and equipment as you found them; and
    • (f)remove all rubbish and, unless otherwise agreed with the Host, all animal remains in accordance with the Booking Terms.
  • 6.3You must not sublicense, resell, or transfer your booking or bring unregistered guests onto a property without the Host's prior consent recorded through the platform.
7

Assumption of risk

  • 7.1Hunting is an inherently dangerous activity. Risks include, without limitation: death or serious injury from firearms; falls and terrain hazards; adverse weather; rivers and waterways; farm machinery and vehicles; livestock and wild animals; and remoteness from emergency services.
  • 7.2By making a booking you acknowledge these risks and confirm that you participate voluntarily, at your own risk, in reliance on your own skills, experience, and judgement — not on any representation by Huntable.
  • 7.3You are solely responsible for your own safety equipment, communications equipment, first aid provision, navigation, and trip planning, and for assessing whether conditions on the day are safe to hunt.
8

Liability

  • 8.1Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or any other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you acquire membership or booking services for business purposes, you agree the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply.
  • 8.2Most personal injury in New Zealand is covered by the Accident Compensation Act 2001 (ACC), which generally bars claims for compensatory damages for personal injury. Nothing in these Terms affects the operation of that Act.
  • 8.3
    To the maximum extent permitted by law, Huntable excludes all liability for:
    • (a)the acts or omissions of any Host or other member;
    • (b)the condition, safety, or suitability of any property;
    • (c)the accuracy of listing content provided by Hosts;
    • (d)loss of or damage to your property or equipment; and
    • (e)any indirect or consequential loss.
  • 8.4Where our liability cannot be excluded, it is limited, at our option, to resupplying the relevant service or refunding the amount you paid for it, and in aggregate to the total fees you paid to Huntable in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
  • 8.5You agree to indemnify Huntable and the Host against any loss, damage, cost, or claim arising from your breach of these Terms, the Booking Terms, or the Host's Farm Rules, your unlawful conduct, or damage you (or your guests) cause to any property, livestock, or third party.
9

Reviews and content

  • 9.1You may post reviews, photos, and other content. You grant Huntable a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, and promote that content in connection with the platform.
  • 9.2Your content must be accurate, lawful, and respectful. We may remove content that is misleading, offensive, identifies a property's location in a way the Host has asked to keep private, or otherwise breaches these Terms.
10

Suspension and termination

  • 10.1
    We may suspend or terminate your membership immediately, without refund, if you:
    • (a)breach these Terms, the Booking Terms, the Host's Farm Rules, or any law;
    • (b)provide false information, including in licence verification;
    • (c)behave in a way that endangers any person, animal, or property; or
    • (d)act abusively toward any Host, member, or Huntable staff.
  • 10.2You may close your account at any time. Closure does not entitle you to a refund except as set out in the Refund Policy, and does not affect obligations that by their nature survive (including clauses 7, 8, and 9).
11

General

  • 11.1We may update these Terms from time to time. We will give reasonable notice of material changes, and your continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
  • 11.2These Terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
  • 11.3If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder continues in effect.
  • 11.4Our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, and the Booking Terms form part of these Terms. If there is any inconsistency, these Terms prevail. Where a Host's Farm Rules impose stricter safety requirements than the Booking Terms, the Farm Rules apply.
