Monarae Station

Set amongst the steep hill country of Northern Hawke’s Bay, Monarae Station offers approximately 1,050 hectares of effective farmland, with hunting primarily focused around the bush edges and surrounding hill country. Monarae is a **fully working farm, operating 7 days a week**, so hunters should expect normal farming activity and farm operations to be taking place throughout their stay. Guests must follow all farm rules, access instructions and Health & Safety requirements while on the property. The farm will always be closed to hunting from 1st August to 15th September for lambing. Ranging from 300 to 900 metres above sea level, the property borders forestry on two boundaries, creating excellent habitat and natural wildlife movement. Deer are the main available species, with pigs and goats also present. Fishing is also available on the property, providing another great option for guests during their stay. Hunting areas are generally around a 40-minute walk from the cottage, offering a genuine backcountry hunting experience and the opportunity to get amongst the hill country. A chiller is available on site for processing. Hunters are required to bring their own packaging and take skins and legs home with them. Bones may be left by arrangement for dog tucker. Guests with suitable hill-country riding experience may bring their own quad bikes or ATVs, provided they are a minimum of 400cc, in very good condition, fitted with good brakes and have plenty of tread on the tyres. All quad bikes and ATVs will be inspected on arrival. **Daily Hunt Rate:** Includes one meat deer per person, per day. Located approximately 1 hour 45 minutes from Napier and 1 hour from Wairoa, Monarae Station offers a genuine North Island hill-country hunting experience, with plenty of room to explore and the opportunity to experience hunting on a working Hawke’s Bay station.
