Nestled on the coastline of Hawkes Bay, Waihua is a haven for bird life especially Canadian Geese. The geese fly between paddocks , the ocean ,the river and a large dam on the property.
White Geese are also an option to shoot and plentiful in numbers.

For those not wanting to hunt , surfcasting is available with private access to the beach.
A small 123 acre bush block ,a 10 minute drive away, adjacent to forestry , with a mostly unfenced boundary is also available for experienced hunters only and needs to be organized prior to arrival. This may have pigs and/or deer . It requires an initial river crossing so is weather dependent.
Any meat requirements can be purchased through our Farm Shop - beef and lamb cuts from the farm , and on Sunday's pizza & coffee too.
Pizza and clay shooting evenings can be arranged with prior notice.

- 1HUNTING LIMITATIONS - Deer & Pigs (Limit 1x P/Person, P/Day) | No Shooting of Nanny Goats
- 2ADDITIONAL CHARGES - Trophy Billy Goats $100 Each (Limit 1x P/Hunter, P/Trip) | Bow Hunting Only | To Be Arrange Prior To Arrival
- 3ADDITIONAL CHARGES - Trophy Horned Rams $1500 Each (Limit 1x P/Hunter, P/Trip) | Bow Hunting Only | To Be Arrange Prior To Arrival
- 4All people in the hunting party will be required to fill in and sign a comprehensive Health & Safety Agreement. All hazards and out of bounds shooting areas will be pointed out then.
- 5Stick to your target species. This is a working sheep and beef farm , stock will be present in and around hunting areas.
- 6Full compliance with the Firearms Code Guests limited to the hunting party staying, no extras on the day.
- 7Normal farm common sense applies- mindful around stock( cows calving, ewes & lambs etc), closing gates properly.
- 8We are a working farm so please leave all gates as you find them.
- 9Be mindful of stock. They will be in and around your hunting area
- 10All shotgun shells to be picked up and taken with you.
- 11All game to be taken back to The Wallow to be processed. No offal to be left in the hunting area. We have disposal sites on the farm which you will be made aware of at the arrival briefing.
